1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how Statify ("Statify," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our websites and web-based authentication and billing pages.
This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your browser or device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixels. Cookies can be:
- Session cookies: Deleted when you close your browser
- Persistent cookies: Remain until they expire or you delete them
- First-party cookies: Set by Statify or our service providers on our behalf
- Third-party cookies: Set by external services embedded in our pages
3. Where Statify uses cookies
Statify uses cookies primarily on:
- Account sign-in and sign-up pages (hosted or powered by Clerk)
- Billing checkout and customer portal flows (hosted by Stripe)
- Post-checkout confirmation and billing return pages on our backend domain
- Any future web pages we operate at https://statify.live or related subdomains
The Statify desktop application does not rely on browser cookies for core Rich Presence functionality. The browser extension does not use cookies to send browsing data to Statify servers.
4. Types of cookies we use
| Category | Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Enable sign-in, session security, fraud prevention, and load balancing | Authentication session tokens, CSRF protection |
| Functional | Remember preferences during a session | Language or UI state during auth flows |
| Payment-related | Process checkout and billing portal access | Stripe session and customer portal cookies |
We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking on Statify-operated pages.
5. Third-party cookies
Third-party providers may set cookies when you use their embedded flows:
Clerk (authentication)
Clerk provides authentication for Statify accounts. Clerk may use cookies and similar technologies to maintain secure sessions, prevent abuse, and support sign-in features.
Privacy policy: https://clerk.com/privacy
Stripe (payments)
Stripe provides hosted checkout and billing portal pages. Stripe may use cookies to process payments securely, prevent fraud, and maintain billing sessions.
Privacy policy: https://stripe.com/privacy
We do not control third-party cookies. Please review the respective provider policies for details.
6. Desktop app and extension
Desktop application
The Statify Windows app stores configuration locally on your device (for example, JSON configuration files in your user data directory). This local storage is not the same as website cookies and is governed by our Privacy Policy.
Browser extension
The Statify extension uses extension storage APIs (such as chrome.storage) for operational state (for example, connection status). It does not set advertising cookies and does not transmit cookie data from websites to Statify backend servers for presence.
7. How to manage cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View cookies stored on your device
- Block all or third-party cookies
- Delete cookies when you close the browser
If you block strictly necessary cookies, sign-in and checkout may not function correctly.

To sign out of Statify web sessions, use sign-out options where available and clear cookies for our domain and Clerk/Stripe domains if needed.
8. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no uniform industry standard for responding to DNT. Statify does not currently respond to DNT signals in a specific way beyond applicable legal requirements.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document when changes are made. Material changes may be communicated through our website or app where appropriate.
